The Canadian Geoexchange Coalition has predicted that a 16% penetration of Ontario’s residential market by geothermal would result in a savings of 1,485,742 tons of eCO2, or the equivalent of removing 442,185 cars from the road. Source

Although up-front costs are often relatively high, the Pembina Institute reports that the payback of geothermal systems can range from immediate to 10 years depending on system size and type. Source

Geothermal systems have a long life expectancy.  It is common for systems to carry warranties of 25 years and the ground loop alone often lasts upwards of 50 years. Source
