This 4 year study initiated in 2012 at the Lakeview Green Street retrofit in Mississauga evaluates how a site with multiple Low Impact Development (LID) practices treats stormwater runoff and manages stormwater quantity as a whole.  This area of Mississauga was one of the few areas that still had vegetated swales for drainage as opposed to curb and gutter. As an alternative to upgrading the traditional grass swales to curb and gutter with inlets and storm sewers, a design using bioswales and permeable pavement on driveways within the municipal right-of-way was developed.

The LID retrofit stores and slows runoff down, and provides the opportunity for filtration and retention of stormwater through infiltration and evapotranspiration.

The Lakeview site is also grouped with 7 other Public Lands sites for a larger monitoring program.  The sites were grouped together because they are all classified as bioretention features and are located on the same land-use type, but each site was designed and implemented differently making them individually unique. The objectives of this report are to analyze the meteorological conditions and water quantity data of the eight Public Lands sites.
