Webinar – Environmental Technology Verification (ETV): Understanding and interpreting the results of the new Oil Grit Separator Verifications

April 19, 2018

12:00 – 1:00 pm
Instructor: Tim Van Seters

Course Description

In 2013, TRCA worked with a 22 member advisory committee to develop a standard laboratory test procedure for evaluating the performance of OGS technologies on behalf of the former Canadian ETV program. Over the past few years, a number of OGS vendors have completed testing and verified their products under the Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) process. The test data presented as fact sheets at ETV Canada provide approval agencies with an independent assessment of how these technologies perform under standardized laboratory test conditions. This webinar will provide an update on testing results of oil grit separators (OGS) that have been verified through the ETV process and discuss how these verifications can and are being used by municipalities and other agencies as part of their approval processes. In particular, the webinar will review some of the decision support tools being used by municipalities and provinces to ensure consistent sizing of OGS and efficient review of submissions.

Who Should Attend?

This webinar is intended for:
• Technology vendors, solution providers and clean-tech investors
• Technology buyers/users, managers, regulators, and agencies
• Performance testing and verification organizations.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand how new testing of OGS and other stormwater technologies through the ETV process can help agencies make informed decisions on the management of stormwater;
2. Learn how new testing data for OGS technologies is being interpreted from an approvals standpoint to ensure that expected outcomes are achieved in practice; and
3. Learn about the design and function of tools used to provide consistent sizing of OGS based on ETV test results.
